Today, Taylor Swift kicks off her return to touring. Taylor’s The Eras Tour starts in Glendale, Arizona (Swift City, Arizona until the end of the weekend) at the State Farm Stadium. The tour celebrates 10 albums and nearly two decades of Taylor Swift’s music and stardom. Of course, every Swiftie couldn’t fit in that Swift City stadium tonight, but Taylor is celebrating Eras vibes with all of her fans today.
“I’m in my Eras era.” Taylor tweeted with a collection of rehearsal photos. Swifties were quick to notice some classic stage poses in the photos and speculated what songs might be behind the photos and that Taylor’s nails were painted 10 colors (one color for each album) in a close-up photo of her hands and grandmacore (adorable!) overalls with quilted patchwork pieces.
The photos were far from the biggest celebration of the tour, though. On Thursday, Taylor also announced that she would be celebrating the start of The Eras Tour with a music release. At midnight, not one, but three new singles had Swifties up late with Taylor. “If This Was a Movie (Taylor’s Version),” a rerecording from Speak Now, “Safe & Sound (feat. Joy Williams and John Paul White) (Taylor’s Version)” and “Eyes Open (Taylor’s Version)”, originally Taylor’s contributions to The Hunger Games soundtrack, and “All of the Girls You Loved Before”, a Lover extra, are the four newest additions to Taylor’s massive discography.
The next question is, of course, does this mean that we can expect to hear these songs in full or in mash-ups in The Eras Tour setlist? Glendale Swifties will find out this weekend.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour starts in Glendale, Arizona March 17, 2023, and will take her around the United States through August. The tour features Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, MUNA, HAIM, GAYLE, Gracie Abrams, and OWENN.
