Waitress is coming back to Broadway with Sara Bareilles returning as its lead!

The musical about a small-town waitress named Jenn realizing her agency and her dreams (alongside lots and lot of pie puns) is based on the 2007 film of the same name and starred Sara Bareilles when it opened on Broadway. Sara is also the artist behind the music and lyrics of the musical!

When Waitress returns, it will be at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre for a limited engagement from September 2, 2021 through January 9, 2022. Sara will reprise her role as Jenna in the September 2 through October 17, 2021 performances.

“I couldn’t miss the opportunity to be there when Broadway welcomes audiences back into theaters that have been sitting dark for over a year,” Sara who has recently been starring in the Peacock original Girls5Eva said to BroadwayWorld. “…Broadway is grit and grace, magic and mayhem, and I can’t wait to feel the electricity that pulses through all of us as the curtains rise once again.”

Tickets for Waitress and more information about its brief return (and upcoming tours) are available now at WaitressTheMusical.com.
