Taryn Davis is an 11-year-old dancer from Cheyenne, Wyoming. She dances at Act Two Studios.

“Dance has taught me that I need to face every challenge with a positive attitude and ‘can-do’ spirit, and with that attitude, I can accomplish anything!”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance is everything! Dance has taught me to win gracefully and to lose gracefully. Dance has taught me that you don’t always get what you want, the part, the score, even the routine that you want. Everything that dance has taught me relates to life outside of dance. Dance has taught me that I need to face every challenge with a positive attitude and “can-do” spirit, and with that attitude, I can accomplish anything!

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

Even though I live in a small town in a less populated state, I have been humbled by the opportunities I have had within my studio and my semi-professional dance company. Through my dance company, I have had the opportunity to work with less fortunate youth in the community, and I have sincerely enjoyed helping to introduce them to the love of dance. I strive to be a great friend and positive role model to the younger members of my studio and dance company.
