The end of the school year is approaching, and with it, it might seem like you have fewer opportunities to dance. If you’re searching for ways to keep dance part of your every day during the summer off-season, trying something new or pushing the boundaries of your training can be the perfect way to have a summer of dance!

Keep Taking Classes

Keeping up your class schedule might seem like an obvious option, but summer opens up options to shake things up. Keep taking your usual classes to maintain your routine, or take a step outside your comfort zone an dtake classes at a new studio or in a new genre. You could even explore online options or travel to learn moves from your favorite choreographers and studios around the world.

Get a Summer Dance Job!

If you are an experienced dancer that feels as though you have something to offer young, aspiring dancers, a summer dance job could be a great opportunity for you. Working as an assistant coach at your studio or, with the right timing and experience, a choreographer or teacher for a studio, is a great way to build your resume and get a new perspective on dance. As a bonus, this is also a great way to earn some money to fund your summer adventures!

Find a Summer Gig

if you are hoping to dance in college or professionally, then this could be a great time to start building up your resume. Try out for small local gigs, music videos, and even choreographer opportunities. The possibilities for doing a gig in the summer are endless as summer is a popular time to shoot music videos, commercials, tv shows, and more. This is also a great time to explore because gigs won’t take time away from school, and you will have just more time to dedicate to your craft.

Summer is a perfect chance to focus on how you can become a better dancer, but also just a better you!
