Let’s start off the new year by making new friends! It’s important to get to know your teammates in and out of dance practice. Better friendships and better bonds equal better teamwork. But it is easier said than done to come up with things to do with new people, and it can be tricky to find something everyone can enjoy. This is especially true if you are trying to get past the icebreaker stage which can be kind of tough to do only at dance practice. Luckily there are so many options for spending time with your dance BFFs, and we’ve gathered some of our favorites to help you out!

Escape Rooms

Working together on a routine is a bit like solving a puzzle, matching everyone’s skills and moves together to create something amazing. An escape room is a good way to encourage teamwork in a fun way (and take your problem-solving skills to a new level). You can work together to solve the clues and get out of the room. Invite the whole team. The bigger your group, the better!

Have a Game Night

Ask everyone to bring a game so you have a big variety to play. Once the games get started, you can also separate into teams to make it into a friendly competition. You could also turn it into a whole night activity such as having dinner or a movie night with it. Fast-paced competitive games like Uno, Jenga, Sorry, and Twister are great for this.

Go to an Arcade

The arcade is always a fun place to make memories with friends! With so many options, there is a game for everyone, so everyone is sure to have a good time. There are even things like photo booths so you can keep the memories forever! You can also challenge yourselves to pool all your tickets and win a shared prize.

Make a Study Group

A study group is a great way to make sure everyone is staying on top of homework while also creating a fun way to hang out and get used to each other’s company. You could also tie in a team-building exercise such as having everyone bring a snack to share.

Go Roller Skating or Ice Skating

You can never go wrong with something like roller skating! Roller rinks often have other things to do such as games and an arcade as well. Plus, both ice skating and roller skating are great year-round activities to do when the weather isn’t too nice.
