Acting
On Discovering Acting:
“When I was younger and watched movies, I would often watch ‘the making of’ reels, and it seemed like so much fun. I remember watching Nanny McPhee behind the scenes and the director’s cut; it was all so fascinating!”
On Her Experience Working on the Film Outcome:
“My role as Young Kyle is meant to establish that the friendship between three of the main characters started when they were teenagers. It was such an amazing opportunity to play the younger version of an incredible actress! Everyone was so nice!”
One of the most fun things about being on set is seeing how it all works…It really is a type of magic.
On How Dance Has Shaped Her Artistry:
“Dance is and has been a very big part of my life. Not only did it teach me physicality, but also timing, stage presence, expression, and teamwork. Dance really teaches you a good work ethic, sportsmanship, teamwork, humility, and perseverance. A lot of what I learned at dance is also useful for acting and modeling.”
On What She Loves Most About Acting:
“What I love most about acting is the opportunity to portray different characters and varying emotions. I love how you are able to tell a story.”
On the Magic of Film:
“One of the most fun things about being on set is seeing how it all works. It’s fascinating to see how they can turn a dark warehouse into a staged living room that looks like it’s daylight out. It really is a type of magic.”
Balance
On Maintaining A Schedule:
“My mom and school have a way of keeping me grounded and on a schedule. I do online school which allows me more flexibility so I can go to auditions, classes, or perform. But the homework always has to get done.”
Dance
On Her Favorite Style of Dance:
“My favorite style of dance is contemporary—I love the control and artistry of it. I also love taking technique and stretch classes.”
On Staying Motivated in Dance:
“Dance is definitely an active and demanding sport! […] It takes dedication, perseverance, and mental toughness. I love the competitions and performances which help motivate me to continue training hard.”
