We’ve already seen Margot Robbie taking on a live-action Barbie look from the driver’s side of a pink convertible, but now Warner Bros has revealed Ken.
The live-action Barbie movie will star Ryan Gosling as Ken alongside Margot’s Barbie. While Margot looked super cute all dolled up in a chunky headband and long Barbieblonde hair, we were unprepared for Ryan’s transformation.
In a cut-off denim vest and matching jeans, Ryan is not only wearing a Calvin Klein-style look with custom Ken briefs, he’s also platinum blond. Leaning against a Barbie pink pillar, we can’t help but think that Ryan’s transformation from actor to living doll is more extreme than Margot’s.
America Ferrera (Superstore), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Alexandra Shipp (tick, tick, …Boom!), Will Ferrell (Anchorman), Issa Rae (Insecure), Michael Cera (Superbad), and Ariana Greenblatt (Avengers: Infinity War) will also feature in the film. We’ve only seen two pictures so far, but it looks like Warner Bros. is more than busy establishing this new Barbie world.
With a huge lineup of animated Barbie movies from Princess and the Pauper to Rapunzel. We’re curious to see what the story in this live-action take on one of the world’s most famous dolls will be.
