Meet Kennedy Paige, a brave dancer who tackled knee injuries head-on two years ago. After surgery on her left knee and a year of uncertainty with her right, Kennedy faced her second operation. She not only powered through the recoveries but also clinched victory at nationals after each surgery. Now, she’s sharing her recovery tips with us!

1. See a doctor right away.

If the injury is serious, get a second opinion

2. Ask your doctor…

What you can still do safely during recovery.

3. Work hard on what you can do.

So you’ll be strong and flexible after recovery.

4. Find new things you love.

Putting time into new joys will help the time pass quickly.

5. Stay connected!

Keep in touch with your studio and dance friends!

6. Keep Recovering!

Keep doing your physical therapy exercises even after you feel recovered.

7. Keep dancing!

Do any moves you still can while recovering.

8. Advocate for yourself.

If you’re uncomfortable with a move, don’t do it! There isn’t a dance move out there that is worth risking your body for.
