Erin Wagner is a 14-year-old dancer from Indianapolis, Indiana. She dances at The Dance Refinery.

“Dance is not only for people who can do the best leg tilts, or the most amount of turns. It’s for anyone who wants to move and use dance as a universal language.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance has a positive impact on my life because of the feeling of freedom through movement. I have been able to break through my limitations on expression through movement ever since my younger brother died. Dance has a positive impact on me because of the community and the ability to do what you love for only the price of you moving your mind and body.

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

I want to use dance as a positive influence on my community because I believe that everyone can use dance as an expression. Dance is not only for people who can do the best leg tilts or the most amount of turns. It’s for anyone who wants to move and use dance as a universal language.
