McKellan Caudell is a 10-year-old dancer from Deluth, Minnesota. She dances at Sterling Silver Studio.

“I realized early on that I could do anything if I worked hard enough and not get down about things around me.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

For me, dance has had a positive impact because it has taught me many lessons in and out of the studio. I remember when I was four years old, I broke my leg and danced through it. Even in a cast that was the length of my whole leg! I realized early on that I could do anything if I worked hard enough and not get down about things around me.

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

I want to teach smaller kids to dance and share the joy it can bring. I’ve had wonderful dance teachers, and I want to continue to pass down the happiness that they have shared with me.
