What screams a perfect summer day more than a day at the beach? Whether you’re traveling to a faraway beach or enjoying the waves at home, a beach day is a perfect way to relax. Besides working hard inside and outside of the studio, it’s important to take days off to enjoy the beautiful weather summer offers. So, get together with some teammates and make the ultimate beach day. Need some ideas?

Beach Picnic

A day at the beach requires snacks which means it is the perfect opportunity for a picnic. You could pick something for everyone to bring such as charcuterie boards, dessert, fruit, and cold drinks. If everyone brings something to eat, there will be plenty of options to snack on throughout the day. A picnic is also the perfect backdrop for pictures if you want to take some Instagram pictures with your dance BFFs.

Handstand Contest

This is a classic activity that every dancer has done at least once. Having a lot of your teammates together can make it even more fun! Make it even more of a challenge by including more people or doing double handstand contests. To do this, do a handstand at the same time as another person with your feet are touching. You both have to stay up for it to count as a win. You could do this in the water or on the sand.

Beach Music Video

When you get a group of talented and creative people together, it’s the perfect opportunity to create something. Why not a music video? Pick an upbeat summer song, and assign everyone a job—director, actor, dancer, etc. Then choreograph a dance to put in your video. If you’re feeling extra social, you could get some fellow beachgoers to join in for more fun.

Have a Craft Day

If you are looking for a chill way to spend your day at the beach, why not do an outdoor-friendly craft? There are plenty of easy craft kits you can buy at craft stores such as Hobby Lobby or Michaels or plan to bring supplies for painting, friendship bracelets, or even memory jars! This is also a great way to get a chance to talk with your teammates and get to know them better.

Have a Photoshoot

Who doesn’t love a summer beach photoshoot? Take pictures dancing in the water, or keep it classic and take cute pictures with friends on the sand. Either way, it’s a great way to remember the day and have something to look back on.
