“I love making people happy, and dance is the perfect way to do that. I am joyful when I can bring joy to others!”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

When the lights come up, and it is time for me to run out on stage to perform what I have created, costumed, and practiced, so many things run through my mind: my amazing dance friends (who are more like extra sisters), my supportive family, the physical strength dance has given me, the outlet for emotions it provides, the enjoyment it brings others, and the strong bond it forged between my sister and I from practicing together at home every day. These are all important, but the main reason I dance is simple: it brings joy and peace to my soul.

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

I love making people happy, and dance is the perfect way to do that. I am joyful when I can bring joy to others! I would also like to introduce more young dancers in our community to the feelings of accomplishment, strength, and peace that is found through studying classical ballet.
