Hello again! My name is Christy Lyn, and I am the lead dancewear designer of Royal Couture! We’re deep into the summer season, and something fun that always gets me excited about this time of year is trying new hairstyles!

Going to the studio to train every day for hours on end can be a repetitive motion for some dancers. An easy way to spice things up is to switch up your go-to hairstyle for dance class! For me, trying a new way to put my hair up makes going to the studio more exciting! Changing things up during the week, even if it is something as simple as my hair, can help me get a new perspective on my movement when I look in the mirror! Plus, there are so many hairstyles that can work for pretty much any class and dance style as long as your hair is pulled up and out of your face!

Goddess Braids Pinned Over

This hairstyle may look complex, but it is actually very simple! Once you get your hair into two even braids you simply pull upward, and lay each braid overtop your head, one in front of the other, and add pins! This hair look can be fun and sassy and totally works for ballet, jazz, or even hip-hop class! You’ll look like a queen giving off these pure goddess vibes!

Sleek Middle Part Low Bun

Many celebrities sport this trendy and sleek low bun! You’ve probably seen it worn by famous figures at red carpet events, but the dramatic part down the middle of your hair totally works for dance class! With the help of some hairspray and a comb, a middle part can frame your face so elegantly. This classic hairstyle is truly the easiest to do and takes just a couple minutes! (#slay!)

“She leaves a little Sparkle everywhere she goes”

French Twist

This hairstyle is so classic. I think a French twist looks beautiful on everyone! It gives off a sophisticated vibe and can be done in many different ways and variations. Starting with your hair twisted at the bottom, pull the rolled hair upward and begin to fold over the hair along your head! Find the shape you desire and then start pinning! Adding a side or middle part with the look can give your hair more character and shape. A French Twist has always been my favorite hairstyle for all types of dance classes, and after lots of practice, this hairstyle can be done in under 10 minutes!

“Take more chances, dance more dances”
