It is officially summertime!
During this exciting time of the year the sun shines, we get to dance more, and you bet the newest fashion trends come out. A summer celebration is clearly overdue. And, speaking of celebrating, this 12th “Studio to Street” article marks the 1 year anniversary of my fashion series with Showstopper Magazine Online! In honor of that milestone, I want to bring it back to one of my favorite topics (and the first one I shared with you!), how to style your leotards into everyday looks … Summer 2019 edition!
We have come full circle, and it’s time to check out the new styling trends and tips for the summer 2019 season!
Couture Queen
This look is all about making a statement with bright colors! A summertime pop of color can be an awesome addition to your outfit. So, pick an exciting shade on the color wheel that catches your eye and go for it! I paired my leotard with some high waisted shorts and my white chunky sneakers (they go with everything!). I finished off the outfit by adding jeweled statement earrings and yellow sunglasses to match my leo, something unique to tie the whole look together. Accessories can make a huge difference. It’s all in the details!

This outfit is super fun! I paired one of my favorite velvet leotards with these ornate satin pants. The contrasting fabrics of the bodysuit and bottoms come together via complimenting colors and their overall shape. Hair clips and barrettes are totally back in style and I added some small but sparkly ones to my hair. They can accent a simple look or give flair to an intricate trend. Gold hoops and hair clips add the ultimate 90s vibe aesthetic to your outfit.

The bodysuit plus denim shorts look is a classic. It is super easy to throw on a pair of shorts over your favorite form-fitting leotard and make it fashion. Choose a color that you love! With this outfit, I am wearing my Royal Couture X Showstopper collab leotard (exclusively released at the Showstopper Anaheim 3 regionals competition this year!). This Showstopper shade of pink velvet makes me happy, so when I put on this leo, it automatically brightens up my whole mood! Velvet scrunchies are so in right now, too. You can wear them in your bun, ponytail, or when your hair is down–even around your hand as a super cute accessory.
