Regina González Treviño is an 11-year-old dancer from Monterrey, Nuevo León. She dances with ISR Dance.

“The most important thing is to be grateful for what you do and always enjoy it, and I think that I can transmit that to other people.”

How has where you’re from affected your dance experience?

I think here in Mexico [there] are many opportunities to develop as a dancer, and on the personal side, dance has helped me in my discipline, teamwork, effort, to develop a passion, to fight for what I want, and I wish to keep growing and getting better each day. Dance has helped me to have faith in myself and being secure of myself and I really enjoy that.

How do you want to use dance to make a positive influence on the world around you?

To inspire others and motivate others for them to know they can always chase their dreams and achieve them. The most important thing is to be grateful for what you do and always enjoy it and I think that I can transmit that to other people.

What would you tell the world about your culture of dance?

Dance is not just a performance it’s also to express how you feel and why you feel it. My culture and dance are basically relate because Mexico has its own way of doing things same as dance.
