Let’s groove, dancers! Last night, Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars made its way to MoTown. Opening the show with gold fringe and swing dance styles, the stars jumped into this week’s competition with a number choreographed by Jamal Sims. Even Alfonso and Julianne jumped in for the final counts of this number!

The Highlights

  • Good Morning America co-host Michael Strahan joins the show as a guest judge for the night!
  • Mauricio and Emma have a comeback moment after performing their foxtrot.
  • Artem and Charity are reunited for a foxtrot!

Barry and Peta

Disney/Eric McCandless

After some slip-ups last week, Barry needed to pull his technique together for his tango. In matching red ensembles, this duo moved across the floor in a romantic dance that Derek praised for “fantastic awareness of timing.” Now Barry just needs to work on his frame to really take over the ballroom.

Score: 25/40

Lele and Brandon

Disney/Eric McCandless

Can you cha cha your way across the ballroom floor? “Shoulders over hips. Nose over toes.” This was Lele’s challenge from Brandon this week. “I knew we were in for something special,” Michael said of their performance, and Bruno was excited about the routine but asked for a bit more control in her movements.

Score: 27/40

Mauricio and Emma

Disney/Eric McCandless

A messy performance last week didn’t spell the end for Mauricio, and this week he wanted to prove himself. Their foxtrot had the crowd cheering and restored the judges’ confidence in Mauricio. “Welcome back,” Bruno said complimenting Mauricio’s improved frame and steps.

Score: 23/40

Daniella and Jason

Disney/Eric McCandless

After coming out on top last week, Jason’s confidence and excitement for dance were through the roof. A hard week of rehearsing was behind Jason and Daniella’s jive performance. Jason’s number one goal was to do Motown justice, and the judges loved it. “That was brilliant. It was on fire!” Carrie Ann said of their moves.

Score: 34/40

Alyson and Sasha

Disney/Eric McCandless

Dancing to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” Alyson and Sasha’s foxtrot was inspired by her love for her daughters. Moving across the dance floor in glitzy costumes, this sweet routine had Derek saying “Oh my goodness!” He did want to see some more work on her frame to pull the dance together.

Score: 24/40

Tyson and Jenna

Disney/Eric McCandless

Tyson put on some new moves and a wig for his trip to Motown. Dancing to Stevie Wonder (Tyson’s friend and former neighbor!), this duo took on a foxtrot that Michael found very confident. Bruno advised Tyson to pull himself up in future dances to maintain his frame and work out some of this week’s mistakes.

Score: 20/40

Charity and Artem

Disney/Eric McCandless

Charity and Artem were reunited this week after Artem’s absence due to COVID. Continuing the work that Ezra and Charity put in last week, this duo wanted to hit the top of the leaderboard with their foxtrot. Bruno had so much praise for this performance. “It was smooth. It was elegant, but you made it look easy. It’s one of the hardest things to do in dance. Gorgeous!”

Score: 32/40

Mira and Gleb

Disney/Eric McCandless

After Bruno insisted she “Turn on the spice, honey!” last week, Mira needed to bring it with her rumba this week. Carrie Ann thought the character work of this dance would be the high point, but she thought it was a bit inconsistent. Derek praised her dancing but needed more energy from her.

Score: 26/40

Ariana and Pasha

Disney/Eric McCandless

Dedicating her quickstep performance to her dad, Ariana wanted to take the judges’ advice from last week and show it off on the dance floor. Derek called them “stunning” with just a small note to stay connected. Michael loved the joy and excitement they brought to the ballroom.

Score: 34/40

Adrian and Britt

Disney/Eric McCandless

Wanting to get as far as possible from the Bottom Two, Adrian and Britt quickstepped the night away in a groovy Jackson 5 performance. Michael shared he hated competing with Adrian on the football field but loved watching him dance. Carrie Ann saw a lot to love here, but she said she was more distracted by the parts that didn’t work. Despite this, Derek called it Adrian’s best dance.

Score: 22/40

Harry and Rylee

Disney/Eric McCandless

Harry has struggled to loosen up and dance since the season started, so he and Rylee put their all into rehearsal this week to loosen up their moves and tighten up their technique. Bruno saw Harry starting to find his flow, but told him to really embrace the musicality of each dance to keep improving.

Score: 24/40

Xochitl and Val

Disney/Eric McCandless

One of the top couples of Latin Night last week, Xochitl and Val wanted to keep up the momentum as they moved into the foxtrot. Gliding across the floor to bring as much “rizz” as possible to the ballroom, their performance earned a lot of praise from Carrie Ann for their technique and energy.

Score: 32/40

The Results

Disney/Eric McCandless

After a surprise loss from Jamie Lynn Spears last week, the results of the night were a tense moment of anxiety and relief as the safe couples were announced. The Bottom Three couples this week were Harry and Rylee, Tyson and Jenna, and Alsyon and Sasha, but only star would be going home. Once the results were in, Tyson and Jenna were revealed to be the couple leaving the show.

Dancing with the Stars returns next week for Disney 100 Night live on Tuesday on Disney+ and ABC at 8:00 PM ET.
