Kiarra Waidelich is a 16-year-old dancer from Las Vegas, Nevada. She dances at The Rock Center for Dance.

“I want to show everyone that dancing isn’t only about the good technique, but it’s about making the audience stop and think and making them feel something they have not before.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

I love that dance pushes me in not only my [dance] ability but my acting too! Dance is something that can never be perfect. And I love that feeling of trying to always push to be better than you were the day before. It has helped me through so much and I am so extremely grateful to have it in my life!

How do you want to use dance to be a positive influence on your community?

I want to show everyone that dancing isn’t only about the good technique, but it’s about making the audience stop and think and making them feel something they have not before. Yes, technique is very important but it’s also about telling a story! I want to inspire other dancers around me and always continue to be inspired by the amazing dancer this world has to offer.
