This weekend, hip hop performance crew 34th & Phunk performed at The Hollywood Christmas Parade on Hollywood Boulevard. Produced by United States Tournament of Dance, 34th & Phunk features more than 60 talented dancers ages 7 to 20+ from all over the United States. This year, Geo took on the role of Artistic Director, working with UTSD as well as two choreographers and also former ICONic Boyz Julian Deguzman and Josh Price as Contributing Choreographers to create this piece.
“My concept this year was to bring NYC to Hollywood.  We first produced a custom music track consisting of a New York New York remix and a Hip Hop classic “Lean Back” by Fat Joe and even threw in a little holiday flare with some jingle bells accents. The crew comes together at my studio ICON Dance Complex in NJ for just two 6 hour rehearsals before heading to Hollywood. It’s a high energy hip hop routine with lots of staging and ‘Phunk’,” Geo said about the performance for this year’s parade performance.
The Hollywood Christmas Parade is a nationally televised event, so you can see 34th & Phunk’s hard work on the streets of Hollywood on The CW on December 14th 8:00 PM. If you get a chance to catch a rerun of their performance, it’s not something you’re going to want to miss!
