Dance Moms star Lilliana Ketchamn (AKA Lilly K) is at home like the rest of us, social-distancing with her family. While being a dancer means that she has a lot to do even when she’s staying home, Lilly is getting creative with the ways she ‘s keeping her day-to-day exciting. We talked to Lilly about everything she’s doing to stay on top of her technique, inspire her fans, and bust boredom.
The Perfect Watch List
Lilly is making the most of her time at home by streaming fun movies and TV shows. “Since we’re stuck at home, I have been watching Netflix,” Lilly said. “Some of my favorite shows/movies at the moment are No Good Nick, BUNK’D, Liv and Maddie, Jinxed, and Jessica Darling’s It List.”
Music for Any Occasion
Like most of us, Lilly is a Billie Eilish fan. “My go-to playlist is WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? by Billie Eilish,” she said. That album is, of course, perfect for everything from casual listening to choreographing the perfect solo routine.
Lilly’s TBRs
Lilly’s current reading list has everything from thrillers to emotional adventures. Right now, she’s reading The Day I Died by Lori Rader-Day, The Lunch Lady’s Daughter by Roderick J. Robison, and The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider.
Podcast Basics
When it comes to podcasts, Lilly is all about the laughs. Her current favorite is Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz’s podcast, Pretty Basic. “I love Pretty Basic!,” she said. “They are so relatable!”
Boredom Busting
“A lot of teachers/dancers are going live on Instagram, so I am taking their classes!” Lilly told us about how she’s staying active and keeping up with her dance routine right now. “I am so thankful for everyone that is teaching the classes just to keep dancers active.”
But Lilly isn’t just watching other’s videos. She’s also making her own “Boredom Busters” series on her YouTube channel to help her fans stay active and inspired. “Just because we’re stuck at home does not mean we have to be bored! So I am making fun videos to keep people at home entertained. I am also collaborating with Duncan Cooper, an amazing ballet and contemporary teacher. We are making dance videos that you can find on his YouTube channel for dancers to follow along.”
