In a surprise trip back to the early 2000s, the Jonas Brothers released some new music this week. Their new single “Sucker” and its accompanying music video are caught somewhere in the realm of Wonderland and The Capital of Panem, but this isn’t a dream, and the odds are in our favor. The Jonas Brothers are back together and potentially planning a tour you won’t want to miss.
Recently, the former Disney stars have been putting any brotherly feuds they may have had aside and working together to bring back the family band we all love in a new an exciting era.
While there isn’t any talk of an album yet, rumors about a tour have been floating around. The Jonas Brothers are back with a sound that they revealed in an interview with Beats 1 has a lot of new influences. Basically, we aren’t prepared for the 2019 Jonas Brothers because they aren’t going to be quite the band they left behind in 2013.
That doesn’t mean we won’t catch an old song now and then. Essentially, we don’t know what the “Jo Bros” have planned, but they aren’t letting their history go completely. On The Late Late Show, they recently jammed out with James Corden to a new version of “Year 3000”. They’re living in the moment – “Year 2019”.
What about that tour? There are no official tour announcements, but they have talked about other stars they want to perform with like old friends and other former Disney stars, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. (What a reimagined version of “Before the Storm” would sound like!?)
Of course, they’re keeping all of this under wraps for now, reveling in the nostalgia of their fans and planning things behind the scenes. But, lucky for us, we’ll get to see all of those behind the scenes moments. They’re planning on releasing a documentary later this year about getting back together and where they’re headed next.
Until then, it’s time to pull out all your old Jonas Brothers merch and start blasting “Year 3000” again (as if we’ve stopped).
