The Montgomery Theater is looking for actors to take on comedy and playwriting in a production of The Understudy. Could you be the perfect fit for Roxanne, Jake, or Harry?

Requirements:

  • Bring a picture and resume, stapled together.
  • Prepare a brief comic (contemporary) monologue.

Roles:

  • Roxanne: Late 20’s to mid-30’s attractive female. Her character is a union Stage Manager who is overseeing an understudy rehearsal for a Broadway play.
  • Jake: 27- 34. Handsome leading man. B-level action hero type movie star who is playing the lead in a new Broadway show based on a recently discovered, unknown masterpiece by Franz Kafka.
  • Harry: 27 – 34. Male. Hired to be the understudy to Jake. In the past, he had a relationship with Roxanne (her ex-fiancé).
