Requirements:

Roles:

  • Hyppolyta/Titania: A beauty, regal and proud. Sensual. Needs excellent command of difficult text. Needs to sing beautifully (requires a high C belt and a strong low G). Ideal audition songs for her would be a slow sultry love ballad and a lively funk/RnB tune. Diversity strongly encouraged.
  • Puck/Philostrate: Male. 20-25. A spirit who is mischievous. Undisciplined. Boyish with great charisma. Must possess excellent physical/movement skills and facility with text. Does not need to be a trained singer but should be able to hold pitch through a short musical sequence. Must have strong rap or rhythmic skills for speaking some of the text. Actors should note the costume reveals far more than it conceals. Diversity strongly encouraged.
  • Hermia: Female. Early to mid-twenties. 5’3” and under. Pretty in appearance. In the court, she needs to bravely stand up to her father and the Duke. When abandoned in the forest, capable of surprising rage. Must have excellent classical text. Actors should note they spend the majority of the play in their undergarments. Diversity strongly encouraged.
