June 2 is National Donut Day. Today we’re celebrating sensational, sprinkled, sweet treats! Celebrated every year on the first Friday in June, this fun holiday is the perfect excuse for a treat and a doughnut dance party.

You’re the sprinkles to my donut!

Originating over 200 years ago, donuts are popular all over the world. Did you know know that in the United States, there are over 10 billion donuts made every single year? It’s true! There’s no questioning that donuts are a fan-favorite treat. Just like fashion, food can have its own style. Draped and layered and sprinkled and spotted. Donuts are a lot like fashion, stylish, unique, and full of flavor, ranging from colorful styles to classics.

There are traditional donut flavors like original glazed, jelly-filled, and even rainbow sprinkles. Unique flavors range from pink velvet to birthday cake and chocolate-covered strawberry. From there, just like those beyond-extra outfits we love for special occasions, there are over-the-top flavors like tropical fruit-loop, sweet and savory maple bacon, vanilla bean creme brulee, and so many more. These are fashionable foods!

There’s a dozen reasons to smile today!

There are hundreds of donut flavors to choose from. I’m celebrating National Donut Day with an after-dance treat, my favorite flavor: raspberry filled with pink icing.
