“Dance has given me the power to have more self-confidence and to be myself.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

Dance has positively impacted my life because it allows me to express whatever I’m feeling that day. The teachers at my studio are amazing and have all impacted my life as well as my teammates and classmates. Dance has also given me the power to have more self-confidence and to be myself.

How do you want to use dance to make a positive influence on your community?

“I want to use dance to make a positive influence in my community by telling stories using dance, so maybe someone will be inspired by the dance and stand up for themselves or a friend. A lot of my dances are about friendship. I think, as dancers, we can overlook the power of our dances to influence others. My teammates are some of the best friends I have and I am so thankful for them!
