“I want to teach people to have a meaningful purpose in their passions.”
How does dance have a positive impact on your life?
“Dance has had a positive impact on my life because of the character it’s built in me. I have learned respect through dance. Dance has also taught me that all friends come in beautiful shapes and sizes with different personalities and interests. No matter who you are, what your hair color is, or what your skin tone is, all are beautiful and all are artists in their own ways. Dance has given me freedom to truly express myself and allow my emotions to overflow and fill my spirit. Dance has taught me a sense of purpose. Other dancers around me have taught me an appreciation for diverse ideas, cultures, and a whole new world that is possible and is living.”
How do you want to use dance to make a positive influence on your community?
“A really simple but big thing for me is, I want my community to see my faith through my dancing. I want them to see my message. I have a passion for dance and I am blessed by God to have this gift. So I will use it to my best ability to show the world how thankful and blessed I am by him, giving God all the glory. But not only that I want to be able to teach kids through dance the same things I have learned. That you must respect your teachers, you mustn’t think of yourself above anyone, you must believe in yourself, and you must have some purpose to do anything that you love. To change my community through dance, I want to teach people to have a meaningful purpose in their passions. I want my community to be unified through their unique and diverse passions. I want people to love what they do and to love everyone, including themselves.”
