“[Dance] has taught me that if you want something, you have to work on it full-heartedly.”
How does dance have a positive impact on your life?
“Dance has a positive impact on my life in SO many ways. First of all, dance is the first place I go to when I’m stressed, overwhelmed or just having a bad day. It allows me to let go and forget about all of the emotions welled up inside me so I can just be myself. Also, it has taught me that if you want something, you have to work on it full-heartedly. Lastly, dance has taught me that nothing is impossible, as long as you work for it. This has not only helped me in my dance career, but in my day to day life as well.”
How do you want to use dance to make a positive influence on your community?
“I want to use dance to positively influence my community because I want to show them what a transformative power dance has. After the shooting that occurred in our community on May 25, 2018, I believe that dance can really help with the healing process because the thing that helped me through that hard time was dance. Additionally, dance is overall such a great outlet when life gets crazy, and I think that it is important for many to be informed of.”
