Savannah Borkowski is a 12-year-old dancer from Angola, New York. She dances at Dance Connection.

“I love to encourage [younger dancers] and be a role model for them.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

“Dance is a platform where I can express my feelings and share my passion with the world. When I dance, I feel like I am “home”! Through dance, I have learned self-confidence. It allows me to challenge myself and achieve new goals. I love being a part of my dance family!

How do you want to use dance to make a positive influence on your community?

“Each year, dancers from my studio perform at a local fair to provide entertainment for the community. My studio also attended Dancers Give Back which is a cancer fundraiser. As an assistant teacher for younger dancers, I love to encourage them and be a role model for them. Dance brings people together, and at my studio, all are welcome.
