Who knew you could find role models in such unexpected places? You may not know this, but you can find great qualities to emulate in everything – including cacti! Did you know that cacti are often used to symbolize endurance? Cacti are strong and resilient and can stand up to harsh conditions. Who wouldn’t want to embody the same qualities?

1. Stay Sharp

Don’t let your skills, whether they are physical, mental, common, or uncommon, fall out of practice! Do what you love and always work toward improving.

2. Soak up the Sun

Everyone needs a break once in a while. Go outside! Soak up the sun! Enjoy yourself! Taking the time to relax and do nothing for a few moments every day is just as important as working hard.

3. Don’t be Afraid to Make a Point

It’s ok to stand up for yourself. Voice your opinions, and stay strong, but don’t refuse to the listen to the opinions of others. If you want others to listen to you, you need to listen to them, too.

4. Bloom!

Did you know that many types of cacti produce flowers? You might not expect it, but they do! Do the unexpected and bloom even when it is not expected of you!

5. Don’t Desert Your Friends

Having a support system is just as important as being able to stand on your own! Stand by your friends and help them as much as they help you.

6. It’s OK to be Prickly

No one is perfectly chipper all the time. It’s ok to have a bad day or have a bad mood. The important thing to remember is that you are not your bad moods. Don’t let them define you or influence the way you see the world.
