“I want to share the joy [dance] brings to me with others.”

How does dance have a positive impact on your life?

“Dance has made a huge positive impact on my life! Through dance I’ve learned to work hard, push myself, set goals and to dream. Dance has taught me how to be punctual and how to work with others. I love that dance allows me to express myself through movement and emotions and that it has given me confidence. Dancing has also taught me how to handle success and sometimes frustration or disappointment. All of these lessons have helped me to be a great student at school and have helped me to build relationships with people who I admire and love.”

How do you want to use dance to make a positive influence on your community?

“I want to continue dancing because I want to share the joy it brings to me with others. I enjoy the opportunities I’ve had to assist at my studio with some of the younger dancers. I feel so proud sharing my experience and passion for dance with them. I am fortunate to be part of a studio that often performs in the community. These performances bring smiles to faces and hopefully inspire others to either get out there and dance or to just appreciate this awesome art.”
