Let’s welcome 2024 in style!

After cheers-ing to a fabulous new year, I love to try out new styles, get inspired, and be creative with my fashion to create looks for a new season. Teen Vogue is with me on this. They say, “While the hair trends of this year are certainly bold and unique, there happens to be something for everyone.” Follow along to see what styles I love to help inspire your looks for 2024. Make it your own and have fun creating exciting looks to sparkle in!

High Bun Fun

Get your glam on! I absolutely love this look! An updo that is sophisticated and stylish with some added fun, Harper’s Bazaar says of 2024 hair trends, “…the bun updo is a forever classic, and it’s getting new life.” This style is elegant (and familiar to us dancers)! Style your high bun pinned up for the studio or a fashion day out. Make it all your own. Feeling fabulous yet?

Fashion Bubble Ponytail

Ready for the runway. This was my official hairstyle for a New York Fashion Week Show I was in, and I have been inspired to recreate it ever since! Start with pinning a puff style on the top section of your hair and then bring the hair into a ponytail. To create the “bubble” effect down the ponytail, my fashion show hairstylist (hello, Fashion Week!) recommends teasing each portion of hair before securing it with a ponytail holder for extra volume. Use hairspray for shape! Superstar slay!

Loose Waves

Wavy like the ocean, we are channeling mermaid vibes with this look. (Cue that gorgeous breeze!) This hairstyle is easy and quick, and always looks gorgeous. To get the loose wavy hair look, you can use a hair-waver or braid your hair the day before. The key here is knowing it doesn’t have to be even and perfect! Uneven, free, and fierce, let your hair down! Glow and shine!

Classic Curls

A hairstyle that stands the test of time, dating back centuries, hair curls are a classic. Pretty and playful, this hairstyle works with every fashion fit you can think of. My favorite way to style curls is a simple middle part with some epic volume! Level up your style one curl at a time! The process of curling your hair may take a little patience and hairspray, but the end result is so worth it. Slay the day with cute curls. This is a total hair-flip moment. It’s giving Barbie!

French Twist

This is my go-to style for dance. I have had so many beautiful dance moments with a French twist behind it all. From dancing alongside my best friends twinning in twists to the look staying secure with hairspray as I nailed my first five pirouettes to taking the Showstopper stage, this hairstyle is ready for anything. I’ve worn French twists on stages across the globe! You can French twist your hair in many different ways, and they all rock. I like to start at the top and twist down to the bottom, adding hairpins along the way to secure it. Don’t forget the hairspray! (P.S.) Adding hair accessories is so fun, too!)

Ponytail x2

Why style one ponytail when you can wear two? A double ponytail moment, I adore this hairstyle. Spice up any outfit (or class) with this one. Begin with a middle part, and use your comb to separate your hair into two sections. From there, secure your hair into a ponytail on each side. You can brush your hair up into high ponytails or style adorable low pigtails. Teen Vogue says, “Pigtails are making a comeback,” and I couldn’t agree more.
